Is star wars one of the most successful franchise?

The rise of blockbuster The Star Wars Universe is not only one of the most popular film franchises in film history, but also one of the most profitable. Thousands of movies and franchises are created every year, but Star Wars has never stopped by the wayside. Its ability to stand the test of time and continue to entertain the world without fail is truly the reason why I think it's the best movie franchise of all time. In 1977, Star Wars captured the imagination of a generation.

More than 40 years later, the franchise continues to dominate the box office. The success of the Star Wars franchise is due both to the intangible elements of creativity and to the tangible numbers that result from innovative marketing and distribution. While it's difficult to quantify and outline the exact reasons for its enduring appeal, there are some common elements that it shares with all successful companies. Now that Star Wars is owned by itself, Disney will continue to develop marketing and integrate the brand and universe into its resorts, shopping malls and theme parks.

All kids fantasize about things like having a lightsaber duel, dressing up as their favorite Star Wars character, or playing with action figures that unleash children's imagination. The first three films in the series premiered between 1993 and 2001, starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. The first Star Wars film spawned a series of prequels, sequels, independent films, animated films, television series and products. Children born in the early 2000s, like me, claim that the prequels The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith are the best Star Wars movies.

In addition to the prolonged bombardment through film and television, Star Wars has an expanded universe of books, comics, board games and video games. In short, the value of the Star Wars franchise is due to consumers, young and old, who pay to escape “a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away”. Whether you were born in the 1960s and 1970s or the 2000s, you've most likely heard of Star Wars. So why is the Star Wars franchise so valuable? What is its enduring appeal and why does it resonate with so many people? People born around the time of the release of the original trilogy A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi seem to claim that these are the best Star Wars movies.

Star Wars has touched generation after generation of people, and its enormous fanbase is living proof of the special place it holds in their hearts. The world of Star Trek, like Star Wars, includes a series of television series, animated series and lots of movies, not to mention an endless number of products. For those who aren't familiar, there's a Canadian prairie town in Alberta called Vulcan, known as the official Star Trek capital of Canada. Several more Star Wars themed series have been announced and are also in production.
