Its ability to stand the test of time and continue to entertain the world without fail is truly the reason why I think it's the best movie franchise of all time. In 1977, Star Wars captured the imagination of a generation.

What is its enduring appeal and why does it resonate with so many people? People born around the time of the release of the original trilogy A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi seem to claim that these are the best Star Wars movies.
